The Beginning
It all began in 2022 with the encouragement of our family and friends, who pushed us to take the leap and offer 3D printing services. Inspired by their support, we decided to dive in headfirst and start planning our dream of turning 3D printing into a business.
Ground Work
We kicked things off by laying the foundation—grabbed our spades and got to work digging up the grass. After a while, it started to feel pretty exhausting, so naturally, we stood there, staring at it like you do, and then it hit us: why not rent a turf remover? And that's exactly what we did! The whole process turned out to be way more fun than we expected. Even little man got in on the action, pushing the turf remover around like a pro!
Why did the lawn remover bring a rake to the party?
Because it wanted to "leaf" a lasting impression!
Concrete Slab
We called in the contractor, and they did an amazing job! After a few tea breaks and plenty of laughs, we were left with a massive slab of concrete right in our garden. At that point, there was no turning back—we were in it for the long haul!
Why did the concrete slab go to therapy?
Because it had too many cracks in its foundation!
Workshop Assembly
This was it—the big day we started building the workshop! Sounds simple, right? Well… not exactly! It actually took a few days and a ton of help from our awesome family. But instead of feeling like a chore, we made it a fun, step-by-step project. With everyone pitching in, we turned it into a family adventure, making memories and enjoying the process as we watched it all come together. It wasn’t just about building a workshop—it was about having a blast while doing it!
Ah, the roof… well, well, well, that was a whole different adventure! Trying to lay the felt down while the wind was blowing like a hurricane—and, of course, trying not to fall straight through the workshop we had just built. It was like a real-life game of "don't-look-down" while holding on for dear life! Let’s just say, the roof definitely tested our patience and balance, but we got there in the end—thanks to a lot of teamwork and a bit of luck!
Why did the roofer bring a trampoline to the job?
Because he wanted to bounce back if he accidentally fell through!
Having a break
Well, it wouldn’t be a true DIY project if there wasn’t a cold beer waiting at the end of a long day’s work—totally well deserved!
"I’ll stop with the jokes...
or will I?"
IT’S DONE!
We did it, and we’re super proud of it! We’ve got loads of space now, and even though there’s a bit of tidying up left to do, the workshop is officially ready to go!
Since this photo was taken, a lot has changed. We added insulation, covered the walls in wood, and gave everything a fresh coat of paint. As we expanded, we also upgraded the power supply, added units, and installed shelves and drawers to store our printers and stock. It might not look like much at first glance, but trust us—it can pump out a ton of parts in just one day!
we officially went live with the business in october 2023
